Hechshers of the United States
My “Hechshers of the United States” series appropriates hechshers to show the variety and beauty of the logos. Several of these symbols not only show that products are Kosher but say something about the region of the country its from. Each state, like the eruvim paintings, suggests a community or particular inflection of Judaism with its own regional taste, local custom and cuisine, while the hechshers suggest a common way of life and religious practice extending across the United States. These are posters of various sizes.
